I am very proud as the Headteacher of St Michael’s RC Primary to introduce you to our wonderful school. The opportunity to educate children is a privilege and one we take very seriously.
All of our children have returned to school in September and we are embracing the ‘new normal’ with an adapted curriculum and increased safety measures. St Michael’s School offers a curriculum for all children which engages and helps children to know more and remember more. In addition to this we offer excellent pastoral care, high attainment and high expectations. Our monitoring systems carefully track pupils progress leading to excellent end of key stage results year on year. Children, staff, Governors and parents work extremely hard to ensure St Michael’s is a happy, safe and supportive environment. To learn more about our curriculum from September 2020 please look at our curriculum page.
‘St Michael’s is a warm and welcoming school where everyone shares the headteacher’s clear vision.
The mission statement, ‘Finding Christ in each other radiates throughout the whole school community’ – Diocesan Inspector
‘We have noticed a real positive change in our children’s development since joining St Michael’s’ – Parent
‘St Michael’s has brought out the best in my child and its wonderful to see them so happy’ – Parent
The views of our children are listened to through the many pupil voice groups we have in school.
‘Pupils make an outstanding contribution to the life of the school from their time in reception, as part of a ‘family group’, through to year six.
They appreciate the outstanding personal support and care shown by the staff.’ – School Inspector
Our staff dedicate their time to provide the children in their care with the best possible academic education. However, we work equally hard to bring out all those hidden God-given gifts and talents in each and every child, to teach them good values by which to live by, to prepare them for the fast changing world in which they live. We are loving the sound of children laughing and working in school and are delighted to have welcomed more children back to school.
To see how we are keeping our children safe please look at our risk assessment. Myself and governors review and update this regularly.
If you are looking for a school for your child and are considering St Michael’s please give us a call and we can organise a visit out of school hours as we are limiting visitors due to Covid 19. There is a dedicated page on our website that will give you information about starting school here at St Michael’s, please take a look. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a ring.
