Welcome to Year 2!
In Class 2 we work hard but we like to have fun in our lessons too. We use songs, raps and rhymes to remember new things! We hope you enjoy looking at what we have been doing.

Year 2 SATS
In the summer term, children at the end of Key Stage 1 will sit new SATs papers. That means that if your child is in Year 2, they will be among the first pupils to take the new test. SATs have been overhauled in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to reflect the changes to the national curriculum, which was introduced from September 2014.
We have added information to help parents, carers and pupils understand the Year 2 SATS process.
This year, the KS1 SATs will take place during the week commencing 6th May.
For the first week of the year, the whole school looked at Royal Families through history. Class 2 focused on Queen Victoria and we enjoyed learning about her life, her family and her huge empire!
In Autumn 1, we are looking at ‘The Place Where I Live’. We are learning more about where we live and using maps to identify what is nearby. We are focusing on our village of Esh, what we like about it and how we think it could be improved.
