Welcome to Year 2
Thank you for visiting our page.
In Class 2 we work hard but we like to have fun in our lessons too.
We enjoy singing and rapping to help us to learn new things!
Miss Kirkwood is our teacher and Miss Carey and Miss Ward are our Teaching Assistants.
We hope you enjoy looking at what we have been doing.

As outlined in the letter, we have changed our homework policy this year. Spellings and times tables will be sent home each week and will be tested each Friday. Please continue to listen to your child read at least three times per week and sign in their reading record.
Please click here to see the Y2 spelling overview for the year.
Below are the Common Exception words for Year 2. Children should be able to read and spell these words by the end of the year.
If your child wishes to complete any online activities throughout the term, please use the links below to find spelling and maths activities.
You can find our more about our learning by visiting the Curriculum section of our website.
PE in Class 2 is on a Wednesday and a Thursday. Please can the children bring their PE kit to school in a separate bag on these days.

Year 2 SATS
In the summer term, children at the end of Key Stage 1 will sit new SATs papers. That means that if your child is in Year 2, they will be among the first pupils to take the new test. SATs have been overhauled in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to reflect the changes to the national curriculum, which was introduced from September 2014.
We have added information to help parents, carers and pupils understand the Year 2 SATS process.
This year, the KS1 SATs will take place during the week commencing 14th May.
