Hi Class 4,
I hope that you are all safe and well.
I hope you have all been managing to work through the paper copy of the initial learning pack you were given when school closed. I know how hard you’ve been working and I’m really proud of how positive you have been towards learning at home.
From now on, new learning packs will be emailed out every two weeks, as well as being uploaded to the school website. Once you have finished working through your current learning pack, and have completed as many of the tasks as you are able to, move on to the next one. Just work at your own pace and move on to the next pack when you are ready to.
You should be able to compete most of the activities independently, like you do at school, but there may also be times where you might need some support or further explanation. If you get stuck, try to use the same methods we use in class:
· Look in your books – is there any previous work that could help you?
· Look at the activity and re-read the question – have you understood what it is asking?
· Use a dictionary to look up any words you’re unsure of – remember you can use the online dictionary too.
· Ask a buddy for help – if you have a brother or sister, could they help you?
· Ask an adult – if you are still stuck, ask an adult if they could help.
If you are still finding a question or task tricky and the adults at home are busy working, remember you can miss it out and try it again another time.
Please try to do some Maths and English work daily – a good target would be to spend about half an hour on each subject. Try to practise your spellings and times tables regularly too, as well as spending some time working on your projects. Please aim to read every day, in the garden, to a sibling, over the phone, before bed – whenever and wherever you can.
Use the exercise books you were given to record your work if possible. If you would rather work on paper or use laptops or tablets to create presentations for your projects, that’s fine too!
Although it is very important to continue your school work, you also need to make sure that you stay active, spend valuable time with your family, take the opportunity to develop life skills, spend time relaxing and have fun! This is an unusual time for everyone, but try to make the most of it – show your families how hardworking, resilient and enthusiastic you are towards your learning and try to appreciate being able to spend so much time together. Try to look for the positives. 😊
If you need help with anything at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. I’m here to help in any way I can.
I’m missing you all and can’t wait to be back at school as a class again.
Look after each other,
Miss Dunn. xx
