Hi Year 5, I hope you’re all well.
Hopefully, you have been getting on ok with the paper home learning pack you all received back in March. I can’t wait to see some of your projects!
Once you have done as much of the paper pack that you are able to, please move on to learning pack 2. I will then update the website with a new learning pack every two weeks until school fully re-opens.
Please work through the packs at your own pace- don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. You are all very good at choosing the right level of work for yourself and I know you all enjoy a challenge too. If something is too difficult, just do as much as you can or miss it out. I do expect you to be doing most of the work independently as you would in class but of course there may be times when you need a little clarification or further explanation.
Please try and complete some Maths and English regularly- 3 times a week is a good target, however you don’t need to spend more than an hour on either of these subjects at any one time.
It is important to do some regular school work but it is even more important to keep yourselves active, have times of relaxation, learn some valuable life skills and to spend quality time with your family. It is all about balance! As the weather is getting nicer, make the most of opportunities to get outside. I know a lot of you, like me, have been developing your cooking and baking skills- this is ‘learning’ too! Try to do at least 30 minutes physical activity a day- this could be playing in the garden, riding your bike or just having a good dance around the living room! It would also be great if you could aim to read for at least 20 minutes a day too 😉.
I sent home an exercise book for you to complete work in however, if you would rather do some of the tasks in poster form or on the laptop, that is absolutely fine. You could even do a video presentation!
Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me if you are unsure about anything. I am always here! I can’t wait until we are all reunited – hopefully it won’t be long.
