Head Teacher’s Full Message

As the Headteacher of St Michael’s Catholic Primary, I am proud and privileged to introduce you to our wonderful school. The opportunity to educate and support children is an honour and as such, every single member of staff takes their role very seriously. St Michael’s is a friendly and nurturing school where every child meets their full potential. We welcome not just the child, but their whole family too.

St. Michael’s School offers an exciting and engaging curriculum for all children enabling them to know more and remember more. We ensure that the needs of every learner are catered for and all children feel supported and challenged in their learning. Our curriculum has been very carefully designed to ensure that our pupils leave primary school confident and capable with the skills they need for succeed and thrive in secondary school and beyond. To learn more about our curriculum please look at our curriculum page.

‘Pupils love coming to school. They care about each other and the environment. Relationships between pupils and adults are warm and caring. Pupil’s well-being is a priority.’ -Ofsted inspector (2022)

The mission statement, ‘Finding Christ in each other radiates throughout the whole school community’ – Diocesan Inspector (2019)

‘We have noticed a real positive change in our children’s development since joining St Michael’s’ – Parent

‘St Michael’s has brought out the best in my child and its wonderful to see them so happy’ – Parent

The views of our children are listened to through the many pupil voice groups we have in school.

‘Pupils make an outstanding contribution to the life of the school from their time in reception, as part of a ‘family group’, through to year six.

They appreciate the outstanding personal support and care shown by the staff.’ – Diocesan Inspector

Our  staff dedicate their time to providing the children in their care with the best possible academic education. However, we work equally hard to bring out all those hidden God-given gifts and talents in each and every child. We celebrate the success of our pupils in the many different forms it may be presented and ensure each child feels valued. We instil in the children the importance of values such as compassion, respect and friendship.

We consider our children as individuals and value the uniqueness of each and every pupil. We fully appreciate our role in preparing children for the future challenges they may face in an ever-changing world and therefore endeavour to prepare them for secondary school and beyond once they leave us in Year 6. By making their learning experiences enjoyable, rich and tailored to their needs, we hope they leave St. Michael’s with their own personal aspirations and self-worth.

St Michael’s School is very much a family school with strong relationships at the heart of all that we do. When we welcome your child, we welcome the family.

If you are looking for a school for your child and are considering St Michael’s, please give us a call and we can organise a visit to our lovely school. There is a dedicated page on our website that will give you information about starting school here at St Michael’s, please take a look. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a ring.
